From Intern to Lead Coach: Amani’s Journey

Two years ago, Amani stepped onto the field with FCC USA as an intern from Miami Dade College. Driven by our mission to use soccer as a tool for community transformation, he set out to share his passion for the game.

He never imagined how deeply the experience would reshape his life.

At the Miami Learning Experience, coaching students with special needs taught him to adapt training drills in real time. The pitch became a classroom, building his capacity for active communication, intention, and operational agility.

Amani then stepped up to guide players at the Children’s Home Society. Teaching fundamental tactics while instilling FCC’s core values, he channeled the high energy of these young players to build confidence, dedication, and a strong sense of belonging.

Week after week, his mentorship unlocked potential on and off the field.

Now a lead coach, Amani carries these lessons of honesty and teamwork into his daily life.

"Working with kids at FCC every day instilled in me being intentional, loving, and understanding," Amani reflected. "It transformed how I lead."

For Amani, coaching has always been about building a supportive community anchored in empathy and purposeful leadership. When a mentor leads with heart, they unlock their own potential and inspire lasting resilience in others.
