Three FCC Kids Given the Opportunity of a Lifetime

For three young athletes, soccer became much more than a game. It served as a powerful driving force for personal discipline, emotional growth, and continuous development both on and off the pitch.

Through structured opportunity and the support of dedicated coaches, teachers, and families, Axel, Dylan, and Sophia each proved that focused dedication turns early passion into milestone moments.

Four years ago, Axel joined FCC USA as a boy simply drawn to soccer from his very first steps. Week after week, his focused work helped him grow into a confident young leader.

FCC USA’s Sophia was also thriving within the same program at Centro Mater, developing resilience and leadership while growing emotionally and intellectually.

A simple drive away at the West Miami Recreation Center, Dylan joined two years ago with that same deep love for the sport, quickly building confidence and connecting with his teammates there.

This summer, their dedication led to extraordinary outcomes on the world stage.

Axel walked hand in hand onto the pitch alongside Cristiano Ronaldo for the Colombia vs. Portugal match, leaving his mother in disbelief and awe at his journey.

“When FCC told me he was going to walk, I couldn’t believe it,” said Axel’s mother. “It was amazing to watch him walk hand-in-hand with Ronaldo.”

During that same match, Dylan experienced his own dream moment when he stepped out onto the pitch and met Ronaldo directly. Dylan encouraged the superstar to score many goals and praised how far he had come in life, to which Ronaldo responded, "You’ll go far in life too".

At another landmark match between Argentina and Cape Verde, Sophia earned the historic opportunity to step onto the field alongside Lionel Messi. "I couldn’t believe I was picked to be the captain and walk with Messi!" she said.
